Henrik Stender
Culture Architect · Author · Creator of Strategy in Play
Henrik Stender is a Culture Architect, author and the creator of Strategy in Play. He works with organisational culture, psychological safety and social wellbeing, and has specialised in values work that strengthens the relationship between what a company says and what it actually does.
He is an expert at mapping the shadow values that silently govern everyday behaviour — and ultimately determine whether a strategy succeeds or fails.
Henrik is a certified LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® facilitator and Real Time Change® practitioner, and works daily as Culture Architect Lead at VISMA Dinero. He is the author of the book Kulturen Lyver Aldrig (The Culture Never Lies).

IMAGINE THAT…
Imagine that strategy wasn't something people were told — but something they could see, touch, shape and own.
SEE
I can see the strategy
TOUCH
It becomes concrete and physical
SHAPE
I can influence and create it
OWN
It becomes mine / ours
Imagine a room where every voice matters.
Where complex ideas become visible.
Where assumptions are put on the table and challenged before they become decisions.
Where different perspectives collide, connect and become shared knowledge.
And where people don't just understand the strategy.
They create it.
Because people don't own strategies made for them.
They own strategies made by them.
SEE IT. TOUCH IT. SHAPE IT. OWN IT.
What we believe
Assumptions kill. Knowledge scales companies.
We test before we scale. We make assumptions visible and look for evidence.
People own what they help create.
Participation is not decoration; it is a mechanism for understanding and ownership.
Make thinking visible.
The unspoken and abstract must be seen, challenged and shared.
Human-led. Technology-enhanced.
AI should expand the facilitator's capacity — not replace judgement, relationship or psychological safety.
Insight must move.
A workshop is not successful because it felt good. Insight must become choice, responsibility and action.
Play seriously.
Serious work can have energy, curiosity and play. But play is a means, not the result.
From assumptions to evidence — one experiment at a time.
Through his own practice, EXP//labs, Henrik helps leadership teams and organisations replace assumptions with evidence. The core is the experiment: instead of betting everything on one big plan, he works with small, fast trials that show what actually works before it is scaled.
STAGE
Frame the challenge
BUILD
Build solutions and hypotheses together
EXP
Test them in reality
SCALE
Anchor what provably works in the organisation
That is the thinking behind EXP//OS, the framework he created. The same logic lives in Strategy in Play: a strategy is not finished until it can be tested.
